WE ARE GETTING BIGGER.

Despite the endeavor to drive smaller cars so there is room for everybody, our efforts are thwarted by one simple fact. Cars are growing.

This time lets pit the old original Mini vs the once upon time new Mini in the gorgeous photo provided by iBosco, from whom more can be seen on Instagram @ibosco.

As time has passed, and the latest generation of Mini is upon us, and boy is it upon us because it is huge, this now modern classic Mini in question from the ‘Noughties’ is looking more and more like it’s Daddy. The classic 60’s Mini.

The original tiny pocket rockets not only produced entertainment on screen in the first Italian Job movie, but they brought fun, trendy and economical motoring to the masses. Not to mention their success in the Motorsport world.

So has the 'Noughties' Mini stamped it’s authority in the same spirit as the old? Absolutely. It somehow retained the timeless, warm charm and garnished that mix with sexy superchargers and high-tech kit to tailor for the ‘always online’, wanting to go faster, highly modern generation. It somehow managed to do so without creating a sense of arrogance. And it didn't get too big.

Maybe this time ‘newer’ wins for me. But I guess my logic is somewhat flawed as I have technically compared older with old. And I love superchargers.
